A Journey Begins...
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have Kept the faith: 2 Timothy4:6-7
On Tuesday night, July 3, 2012, surrounded by the love of her husband in Nyack Hospital, Nyack, New York, God with His awesome power, grace and mercy looked upon His servant, Yvette Rena Dallas Jones, gently closing her eyes while embracing her into eternal rest.
Yvette was born April 3, 1965 in Clarendon County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Marie Bethunc Dallas and the late Joe Ike Dallas. She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and was a 1983 graduate of Scott’s Branch High School. Upon graduation she relocated to Port Chester, NY and she became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Yvette was employed by MCI where she met, was swept off her feet by and married the love of her life, Bernard Jones. Yvette was currently employed by Pfizer in Pearl River where she was a dedicated employee who paid attention to details. She was honored for her hard work and tireless commitments to the community. She raised thousands of dollars for Cancer Research through her fundraising efforts. She also took pride in her service to God as she was a faithful member of Mt. Zion until her health began to fail. She served as vice-chair of the Women’s Ministry, a devoted member of the Bereavement Committee and the Fundraising Ministry.
Yvette loved people, she loved her family, she loved her friends and she wanted to feed everyone that entered the doors of her home. She had a wonderful knack of making everyone feel like family. She did all of this while remaining fashionable and gorgeous. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Yvette is predeceased by her mother-in-law, Viola Jones and her sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and John Georgia.
